Firdaus Bolang, also known as Daus, was born on February 13th, 1991. He was born and raised in Bali with blood from East Nusa Tenggara and Java. His interest in the world of music and drums, to be precise, began when he was in junior high school in 2004-2005. Remarkable musicians in the Bali music scene, such as Lolot, SID, and Navicula, inspired him to pursue his interest in music.
In 2015, he underwent a mandatory charge at Kerobokan Penitentiary in Bali due to marijuana possession. It was a journey to take, but it taught him a lot and was one of the best experiences of his life. Believe it or not, that is where he started his musical career.
Daus frequently plays the drums in the House of Worship, where his musical talent has gained attention. He participated in significant events, such as Independence Day, Eid, and Christmas, with others who were legally bound and restricted.
The Head of the Penitentiary who saw this, suggested they make an original song, which led to the formation of a band called ‘Antrabez’ Anak Terali Bezi, which can be interpreted as the person behind bars. The band was established in 2016 and plays pop-rock music. Antrabez produced 2 albums, and you can find their musical creations on various digital platforms. They had the extraordinary opportunity to record their original songs at one of the well-known music studios in Bali, namely; Antida Music Production, under supervision.
In mid-2017, Daus returned to civilian life but remained part of Antrabez. In early 2018, he met Joe and Aweng at ‘The Munchies’ live music show, which was still a duo. The pandemic had a profound impact on everyone, both socially and economically. However, Their connection grew stronger, leading to more frequent discussions about music. Eventually, Joe and Aweng asked him to join ‘The Munchies’ in 2021 by bringing drum percussion into their music. Daus creates his unique drum instrument drum-cussion, which has a simple appearance but adds a distinct character to ‘The Munchies’ music.
