The Munchies

Formed in October 2016, A group of 4 individuals from different corners of Indonesia, based in Bali bring together the nuances of folk music, originally starting with 2 main players, Joe (vocals, acoustic guitar, harmonica) & Aweng (banjo, acoustic guitar & electric guitar). Later In 2021 Firdaus (percussion) & Hedi (violin) joined the band which has allowed their music to elevate with new flair and demonstrate an alternative take on folk.

They express embracing happiness and positivity through their music by paving a way to move forward and bring peace of mind along the journey.

In 2019 The Munchies released their first single ‘Strong Like A Lion’, which became a huge hit around the country not only due to the powerful lyrics which include a movement for social change but also by the melody created to complete a fantastic single which is still to date a top favorite from their fans.

In August 2023, after a remarkable seven year journey, The Munchies released their first debut album, titled ‘INFINITY’ which embodies the concept of continuity and limitlessness, there are no limitations on creative work. Presented as a symbol of harmony and balance, representing that life is constantly evolving even with its ups and downs. ‘INFINITY’ was released and heard by the public on digital platforms in August 2023. The album includes new songs as well as old favorites which have been rearranged to bring a new and improved concept.
