Joe, the 3rd son of 4, was born June 7th, 1983 in Dumai, Riau, Sumatra – Indonesia. His hobbies in music, sports and adventure brought him to the world he lives in today. He began to pursue his passion for music when he was still in junior high school. In 2001 Joe moved to Bandung, West Java and started his career playing music in cafes and bars with his band ‘Little G’ a band with R&B and Hip Hop nuance.
Around 2010, he formed a band with a Reggae feel called ‘Boys n Roots’ which produced 2 albums in Jakarta and is also available on digital platforms. In early 2016 when he moved to the Island of the Gods, Bali, He formed the band ‘Brother Joe & the Peaceful Warriors’. In October of the same year, Joe formed the band ‘The Munchies’ with Aweng and developed their musical creations.
Big names such as Robert Nesta Marley and John Lennon were the biggest influences on his music, as well as some of his favorite reggae, folk, hip-hop and alternative rock musicians.
Currently, Joe is also known as an active member of the band ‘The Island Souls’, which is the band of Aray Daulay who passed away in 2018. He was trusted to continue the band’s journey with the other personnel.
